Broadly, I study the role of social interaction processes in subjectivity and intersubjectivity. For doing this, I have proposed the theory of participatory sense-making ( video introduction ). This enactive approach to intersubjectivity investigates how we move together while we interact with each other (including speaking), and how this influences how we understand each other and the world
The brunt of the book is a treatment of this problem of the one and the many throughout western philosophy via a discussion of the thought of these individual philosophers. Not attempting this crossing in a subject as multi-faceted as intersubjectivity inevitably binds us to remain within self-enclosed conceptions. By this we mean a bundle of self-reinforcing perspectives, hypotheses, experimental methods, debates, communities and institutions. Models, Science, and Intersubjectivity Harald A. Of course, Husserl is not said to hold the absurd view that nothing except one solitary mind exists. The point is rather methodological: Alt- Scholarship suggests that psychological knowledge arises neither from the "inside out" (subjectively) nor from the outside-in (objectively), but instead intersubjective processes that occur between people. If this is so, then objectivist methodology may do more to obscure than illuminate our understanding of psychological functioning.
